Teaching at Mandaara is built around the classroom hour. Rooms are arranged so that a teacher can hold the attention of the whole group and still reach individual students during a lesson, with a whiteboard and a wall-mounted display panel at the front.
A working laboratory for practical work in science.
The laboratory is set up for practical sessions: labelled reagent bottles and burette stands on the chemistry benches, and microscopes on the benches used for biology. Practical work is done here rather than described at the board.
Desktop computers at individual workstations.
A room of desktop computers, each at its own workstation, with a whiteboard at the front so a session can move between instruction and practice. The room has its own power supply and UPS.
A paved court in front of the school building.
The courtyard is paved and marked out as a court, with a net post in place. It sits directly in front of the classroom block, so it is in use through the school day.
A residential environment designed to support students' day-to-day needs.
Students who board live on campus under the care of resident staff, with a settled daily routine of study, meals and rest. Rooms are furnished with bunk beds and a locker for each student.
A dedicated dining facility serving the residential community.
Meals for the residential community are prepared and served in the school's own dining hall — a single room of long tables and bench seating, so the whole house eats together.
